July is over!!

And just like that, in a flash, July is over! I can't believe it!!

So I have done a terrible job at keeping my blog updated with what we've been up to... Oh well, I hadn't promised to be any good at this. Truth is, it has been very very busy, and this isn't high on my priority list.

Unfortunately, Nicholas' 1/2 hr naps don't provide me with much of a break, especially when they don't happen at the same time as Christine's naps, and by the time they're in bed, I hardly have the energy to talk to Trevor on the phone (and believe me, he needs to talk - for 45 minutes to an hour every night!). :)

So what have we been up to? Hanging out, more than anything. We've hung out at my parents' house, playing in the "sandbox" (the legal-sized beach volleyball court in the backyard) and in the little blow-up pool as well as with all the toys my parents were able to borrow from friends for the kids. Both Christine and Nicholas like to play with Penney (my parents' dog) - Christine keeps insisting that it's her dog... (only until August 10th when we leave her behind!!) We've also spent a bit of time at their new house watching some of the construction and going to play and swim in the river. That's quite refreshing!

We've also been able to spend some time with the Masons and a few visitors from Moncton (Aunt Betty and Grammy) over the weekends and we made it out to the park a few times. We've also had a few playdates (the Fyffes, Losiers, and Hardys) which have been great for Christine to spend some time with kids her age and for me to get to see my old friends and meet some new ones. We even got to go to a birthday party! Almost like we're home!! We also made it to the Calithumpians for a free kids' show and to a free concert in the park. We've been going to the library at the Centre Communautaire for story time in French!! Wow! Unfortunately, the YMCA in F'ton doesn't offer playcare during the summer months, so my fitness has totally been put on hold... Hopefully I'll get out for a run or two this week with Trev being back.

Earlier this week, we went to the Playhouse to see Sid and Patty, Bo on the Go and Curious George. It was a great show! Christine and Nicholas both loved it!

Nicholas still doesn't like his car seat much, but seems to be better with the new bigger carseat, so we may be able to make some day trips at some point in the future! In the meantime, we're going to have family come to us to visit a little bit while we have Nicholas' baptism on Monday at the Masons house. My cousin and his wife (Denis and Leisa) will be his Godparents and we'll all be accompanied by Grammy, Aunt Betty, Jeff, Jim and Louise, maybe Brian and Ninn and maybe Marie-Jeanne and Laurier. It should be a nice time.

More news later. Nicholas has had it with me... :)
ps: he's teething... grrrrrrrr....
