An OFFER!

I guess we had to leave for this to happen! On Thursday night (Dec 11th), we got an offer on the house - finally! It wasn't even close to what we wanted financially, but all other things about the offer was good. The buyer has already sold her house and needs a quick closing, so that's very good for us (ie: no condition of sale, and a quick possession). We were able to negotiate her up a little bit, but we're still a bit disappointed about the money. On the other hand, things aren't looking great as we look to the future of the housing market, so we're glad to at least have come this far before things get worse.

We'll be able to celebrate more next weekend, after the house inspection is done and her other conditions (financing and insurance) are met. Hopefully this will go through and we'll be mortgage free as of January 14th! Until we buy anyway...

This week has been pretty crazy. It's nice to not be alone, but time still is flying by and I haven't seemed to get anything done! We've only been by the house a couple of times and I still would like to go clean a bit more before we move in, but that probably won't happen. We have to buy a few curtains for the bathroom and maybe Nicholas' room, but we'll get to that. We really have to go put a gate at the top of the stairs though! We found out mid-week that our things would actually not arrive until Monday the 15th, so that was a bit disappointing. It puts us very late for getting settled. Hopefully we'll be able to unpack our stuff quickly enough that we can be comfortable by mid to late week and get to have some 'just us' time when Trev goes on vacation at the end of the week. We'll take pictures as we get a little bit settled.
