I can't believe the weekend is over - at least for me... It went by so quickly!
Trevor got in shortly after midnight on Friday night. Needless to say, I was in bed asleep, so didn't really say hi until Saturday morning. Christine was absolutely thrilled to see him when she woke up on Saturday morning as well. We made a quick trip to the Brockville market then Trevor and Christine went to pick up our turkey at the Butcher Shop. They then went on a little trip to the LCBO in Iroquois to get some St. Ambroise Pumpkin Ale. While they were out, my brother Paul and his daughter Edeanne arrived for a little visit and Thanksgiving dinner. We had a nice time hanging out with the babies and Christine - we went to the park (see pictures, if you are a contact), played in the playroom, etc. all the while trying to make dinner for 5:30 or 6... And once again (I do this every year, as Trevor thankfully pointed out!), I underestimated the time it takes to cook the bird, and we were finally eating closer to 7pm. Anyway, the meal was pretty good, if I do say so myself. The company was great - we really enjoyed spending time with our niece. It was fun. We had a quiet night after the kids were in bed.
Sunday morning was also fairly quiet and low key. I decided to ensure we wouldn't have as much of a late dinner by making the turkey pie ahead of time, so spent most of the late morning in the kitechn. The Haggertys got here around 1:30 or so. Liam hadn't napped in the car, and they decided to see how he would do without a nap. After checking out the deck, the dads took the big kids to the park while Nicholas slept in his crib and Amy and Grace went to a baby shower. It was pretty quiet here at home! The boys and Christine went to a couple of parks and got to run around. They saw lots of ducks and a really big fish. They got back to the house around 4pm and Nicholas woke up and we all headed to the train station to try to see a train. We had Court's kind of luck and saw no trains, but the nice guy at Via gave us cardboard model trains to put together for the kids. Christine's is still intact - I'm curious what shape Liam's is in... We came back home shortly after 5 and finished getting the supper together. Amy got back a little after 5:30 and we all sat down to eat, and that's when Liam seemed to hit the wall! Anyone who's ever had a 2-year-old can imagine how the rest of the night was... Poor Liam... We still managed to have a nice meal and some pie for desert. And that's when Grace decided that she had to scream too! Poor Kevin and Amy. We felt really bad for them - knowing how it feels... Luckily, both kids fell asleep very quickly after getting in the car and they had a quiet drive home.
And then, all of a sudden, it was time for Trev to go... I can't believe it... Unfortunately, we don't have his next trip planned yet, and I think I'm feeling more lonely because of that. Ah, the kids keep me busy though and I don't have too much time to think about it. Hopefully Christine's runny nose won't turn into too much of a bad cold - I don't need that right now...

For the record, Liam's train is now in the recycle bin as it was torn apart and in pieces. It did entertain him for a few minutes this morning as I tried to get some dishes done! Funniest part was when he brought me several torn pieces and said "mommy fix it"! Thanks for the turkey pie supper last night and sorry for our quick exit:) Liam is definitely not ready to give up his afternoon nap!!!
Jules - the big fish was with Paul the previous day...

Thanks for an excellent afternoon. If possible, we'd like to get the recipe for the delicious turkey pie. :)
Glad you all had a good weekend and I hope Christine's cold didn't get worse. Avery caught mine and the bad sleep habits around here got even worse for the weekend. :(
Oops, that's right. I got all mixed up - sorry Trev!
Amy now has the turkey pie "recipe" in her inbox.
So sorry to hear about Avery... having a baby with a cold is never ever fun... Good luck with getting some rest!
Train update: Christine's is on display on the ottoman - still in perfect condition. If she brings it somewhere, she asks me to hold it to go up and down the stairs as she doesn't trust herself... We'll see if I throw it in the recycle bin because I'm tired of looking at it before it actually gets broken... :)
