Today's showing

It was 14:50 and the kids were still sleeping! Wow! I hope this continues! But... I have to get them and the cat out of here for the showing. Man I hate waking sleeping children! So I head upstairs and start with Nicholas so that I can give him some milk before getting Christine up. We're just getting comfortable in the chair when someone knocks at the front door. I go see who's there and it's the real estate agent that's taking the people through! They're 30 minutes early! WTF?! (Sorry Dana for swearing).

She asks if it's ok to take the people through early as they are way ahead of schedule due to other house visits being so unsuccessful. I tell them that I was in the middle of getting the kids up and would need a few minutes to get them out of the house and pack up the cat, etc. She says it's ok for me to stay, that they'd just go through quickly to at least get an idea of it and if they like it, they'll book another showing for another day. I said it was fine - not having to leave means that I can also start making dinner a little earlier and it's much more convenient. I didn't like the idea of being there and having to see them, or for them to not get a chance to really look at the house and say whatever they'd want to say, but whatever - they could've waited for me to leave or book another visit.

Anyway, Christine wants to tour them through the entire house - she definitely shows them her room very proudly (I did manage to make her bed and put away her clothes before they got upstairs, but she was on the potty when they got to the bathroom... :). We head to the kitchen for a snack so that they can see pretty much the entire house without us around. They spend about 30 minutes looking around inside and out. They made lots of comments on how nice the place looks and what a "great job we did". So show me the money! They also commented that it was the first house they saw that actually looked like the pictures on the internet... I wonder how much clean-up and tidying others do before a house showing...

That was basically it. We'll see... Planning another open house for next weekend as well...
